During Term 2, a number of students produced Ginger Beer and Camembert Cheese to be entered into the Queensland EKKA.
Through the Honoratus Program on Wednesday afternoons, a number of groups from Year 5 to Year 10 worked hard mastering a good ginger beer recipe. In the end, the group of Imogene Ellsworth. Erin Crowe and Breeanna Robinson took home a second place in the class against schools from across Queensland.
Along with the Ginger Beer, a keen group of cheese makers also entered their camembert into the EKKA. Although our cheeses didn't place in the top three, the standard of cheese produced was exceptional. Colby Venter was awarded with a Gold Standard in cheese, Hayden Schooley-Wheeler a Silver Standard and Erin Lowry, Clark Andales, Imogene Ellsworth and Breeanna Robinson a Bronze Standard.
