Frequently Asked Questions

Choosing a school is one of the most important decisions you'll make for your child. While every school offers learning opportunities, Catholic schools provide an education that nurtures the whole child academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.

At our school, your child will be known, valued and supported as an individual. We strive to create a welcoming community where students feel a sense of belonging, develop strong relationships and are encouraged to become their very best version of themselves.

Catholic education is grounded in values such as compassion, respect, service, inclusion and justice. These values are woven through everyday school life, helping students grow into confident young people who care for others and make a positive contribution to their community.

We encourage you to submit your child's application when they are in Year 4 or earlier.

We welcome enquiries at any time and encourage families to connect with us early to learn more about our College community and enrolment process.

Enrolment offers for Year 7 are made from Term 1 of Year 5.

Applications are considered in accordance with BCE's Enrolment Policy and school enrolment policy and procedures.

While St Benedict's College is a Catholic school, we are open to all families seeking a faith-based education in a welcoming and inclusive community. We celebrate the diversity of the families we serve and invite everyone to participate in and support the Catholic traditions, beliefs and values that guide our schools and enrich the educational experience of every student. Children who are baptised Catholic are given priority of enrolment at Brisbane Catholic Education schools.

If your child is placed on a waitlist, you will be kept informed throughout the enrolment process. If an availability arises, families will be contacted and offered the opportunity to progress your child's enrolment.

Absolutely! In fact, the best way to know whether our College is the right fit for your family is to experience it for yourself.

We encourage families to attend a College tour or Open Day to meet our staff, explore our learning environments, and get a feel for our community. It's a wonderful opportunity to ask questions and see firsthand what makes our College special.

Visit our College Tours page to register for an upcoming event and book your spot.

We look forward to welcoming you and helping you discover whether our College is the right fit for your family.

We welcome students and families who share in the values and ethos of a Catholic education. Each application we receive is assessed on its merit.

Families are encouraged to review the BCE Enrolment Policy and our School Enrolment Policy and Procedures before submitting an application.

We are committed to supporting every student to thrive. Our specialist support staff work closely with families to understand each child's individual needs and, where required, develop personalised learning plans and programs that support their learning, wellbeing and success throughout their educational journey.

We believe every child deserves access to a high-quality education.
