From May 27 to June 3, we observed National Sorry Day and National Reconciliation Week — a meaningful time for reflection, learning and community connection.
Throughout the week, students participated in a series of lunchtime activities, culminating in a liturgy on Friday. During break times, they were invited to decorate individual gum leaves while reflecting on this year’s theme, Bridging Now to Next.
These leaves were then brought together to form a beautiful wreath, displayed in our sacred prayer space during the liturgy. This collaborative wreath represents our shared journey towards reconciliation and will also serve as inspiration for the 2025 reconciliation artwork.
While this week offers a dedicated time for reflection, our commitment to deepening students’ understanding of First Nations histories and perspectives continues well beyond it. We would like to take the opportunity to thank the many individuals that have supported the College with our reconciliation initiatives and curriculum so far this year.
